Looks like Gwen Stefani, sounds like Gwen Stefani, is she Gwen Stefani? Nope. I'm talking about Kara from the band Blasted. I saw this hot, blonde gal one night singing her ass off on stage to No Doubt's "I'm Just A Girl". I had to look twice to make sure that it wasn't No Doubt on stage. I was right because I was also looking for the short, dark skinned, bleached head dude and I didn't see one. I saw a cute, tall, Dawson's Creek look-a-like instead, only more "punk rock" than James Vanderbeek with a tie, who sings a-la Gavin Rossdale from the Bush.

Blasted is a two year old band from North Jersey who does great covers of the 80's classics and the cool tunes of the 90's. They are also the first band I heard who perfected the cover of Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life". This band is so vivacious which makes them so entertaining to watch. Blasted is very driven that there was a moment when they were performing that I couldn't find where the voice was coming from. I looked around and there it was, Ryan (the James Vanderbeek look-a-like), literally on top of the bar singing and dancing!! Of course the girls were screaming and the guys were kind of appalled.

Definitely a must see band. I wish they play more in Philly. Their line-up includes a former guitarist of Tommy Lee after his Motley Crue days. Plus a cover of Eminem's "Lose Yourself" in their song list.
