Josh of Bliss

At a bar in South Street, a Bandaid interviewed Josh of Bliss Puppies.

Are you from Philadelphia?

Josh: Yes

How do you feel about having Philadelphia as your musical base?

Josh: It’s hard.  There are not a lot of venues we can play. It’s a struggle.

So, is it difficult to have an original band?

Josh: Very Hard.  This is probably one of the hardest cities to do this in.

How do you feel about Y-100 going off air?

Josh: It sucks.  There’s no alternative station anywhere else.

Did you sign the petition?

Josh: No. not yet

Oh, okay but you will?

Josh: Probably.  Yes.

How old is Bliss Puppies?

Josh: About a year now.

How did you all meet?

Josh: Well, I and the guitarist (Ben) have known each other for about seven years now.  We played together on and off and we did a couple of shows.  Well we just tried to pull it off together and see what happens and the chemistry worked out. So, we just rolled with this.

For new fans to check you out, can you state your website?

Josh: It’s www.blisspuppies.com

Is there a new album that we should be expecting?

Josh: We just finished recording an album. We are just finishing the mastery right now.  It should take about a month.

Do you have a title for the album?

Josh: We are working on a couple of titles.

Will you contact us when you have a title so we can post it on our site?

Josh: Yes. Yes.

Thank you. What was the musical background and what got you all to start performing?

Josh: I think majority of us started playing when we were in High School.  And just played a lot of jazz music.  Then after high school, we just started playing a lot of rock music but it’s very heavily influenced of jazz and funk music.

Are there a lot of love songs in your messages?

Josh: It is very influenced by relationships… yes.

So would you say there’s a little romance in your songs?

Josh: You can call it romance... Yes or… lack of romance works too.

So, who wrote most of the songs?

Josh: Ben.
